Ultimate Nutrition Whey Protein Review: Side Effects, Read Before you Buy
Guys welcome to GoFitandHealthy.com, Today we are going to review ultimate nutrition whey protein, one of the most famous whey protein supplement in the world.
It is quite cheap in terms of price especially in countries like India where most of the supplements are fake. Hence be cautious and read this review. Health is the most important thing, never neglect it.
First of all, we shall see what this company Ultimate Nutrition is all about, began in 1979, owner of this company Victor Rubino was a powerlifter in the USA, hence almost 4 decades old company, thus well established and trustworthy, trusted brand in the bodybuilding industry.
As you can see, Every scoop is of 30 gm with 25 gm protein in it, 1gm of fat, 20mg of cholesterol, 30mg sodium, Only 2gm carbs out of which sugar is a meager 1gm.
Hence if we go by the label, it is perfect, the portion of protein availability per scoop is very high, go blindly for products offering such a high level of protein availability per scoop. Though some companies fool the customers by using protein spiking, no such thing has ever been reported about Ultimate Nutrition. Since its a global brand, not limited to the Indian market.
Also, since Fat is negligible; sugar is also negligible. (Tip: Stay away from any high sugar product supplement in the market.)
The ingredients on the label of the chocolate flavor:
“Protein Blend (Whey Protein Isolate, Whey Protein Concentrate and Whey Peptides), Cocoa, Sodium Chloride, Sucralose, Acesulfame Potassium, Natural and Artificial Flavors, and Soy Lecithin”
So guys as you clearly see the company explicitly mentions that it is a blend of whey isolate, concentrate, and peptides. As a buyer, you must know that this is NOT ‘Whey protein Isolate only’. This may be a factor to help you make the right decision if you were confused with other products like Optimum Nutrition.
But overall it has sucralose but there is nothing to fear about, it’s very common in whey protein products. Hence all seems excellent, low fat, low sugar, all other ingredients are commonly found in every protein supplement, not to worry, they won’t harm you at all.
As you know, taste is something very subjective, my favorite flavor may be the one which you would never even want to smell!. But always keep in mind that you shall be drinking this shake every day either post-workout or immediately after you wake up in the morning. So decide the product flavor accordingly otherwise you might puke or get nausea if you ignore choosing the right favor while buying it and it may get very difficult to finish the entire product.
Most people prefer chocolate flavor, but there are many other flavors you may want to try according to your own personal preference. Just check the sugar content of your chosen flavor, some flavors demand more sugar, but it shouldn’t be too high, ensure that.
Mixability is also great, just don’t add too much water, 6-8oz er scoop of whey should be your goal, otherwise, you won’t be able to enjoy the taste of the flavor, and would end up hating this product. People don’t realize this and end up being negative about the product as a whole. Ultimate Nutrition officially recommends 8oz of water or milk for a regular shake and even 4oz of water/milk for a thicker shake.
Can you take this protein with milk?
Yes, especially if you want to gain weight, but if you are overweight, stay away from milk, as your body doesn’t need those extra calories. So taking with milk or water depends upon your fitness goals. If muscle building and getting lean if your aim then mix it with water. If you are bulking then prefer with milk. (Tip: Drinking whey with milk leads to faster protein absorption. So, I would recommend only water-protein shake post-workout. Milk may be taken 30 minutes later, if you have to drink it anyhow.)
Hence overall, it is an excellent product, you may go for it, I have personally taken this product, and found it to be very effective in recovery and muscle gain if taken with a regular muscle-building workout regimen.
Confused between Ultimate Nutrition Prostar 100% Whey and Ultimate Nutrition ISO Sensation 93?
Note that ISO sensation is a special product which is not only expensive but has a functional whey protein isolate, it is claimed to be the highest quality protein made by the company, promoted for fat-loss and muscle gain, enhanced with colostrum which boosts immunity. So, if budget is not an issue for you then go for it.
